This place was quite crowded despite being late on a weekday evening. But we were promptly seated and the food came relatively fast. We ordered the gonceng (deep fried little fishes) which is a must. It was like eating a snack. We also had the foo chow style tofu soup and I enjoyed this. Even nicer to add some vinegar to this soup. Next was the stir fry midin. And we had the curry fish head which came in a large plate. The fish was very fresh. Overall a good place for seafood.

See Good Food Centre might have a funny name, but it’s one of those classic Kuching eateries that delivers exactly what you hope for — hearty, home-style dishes in a casual, unpretentious setting. It’s the kind of place where the tables fill up fast, the service is brisk, and the food comes out with that familiar, comforting flavour Sarawak eateries do so well. It’s approachable, reliable, and carries a quiet charm beneath its quirky name. The standout dish here is unquestionably the assam terung fish, a speciality you’d be hard-pressed to find outside of Sarawak — at least not anywhere I’ve seen. The tangy, aromatic assam broth, paired with soft brinjal and fresh fish, creates a flavour profile that’s unmistakably local and deeply satisfying. It’s the dish that keeps you coming back and the one that makes See Good memorable. For anyone exploring Kuching’s food scene, this is a stop that deserves to be on the list.

We had a satisfying meal at this seafood restaurant, ordering bidin belacan, manicai egg, prawns, crab, ikan gonjeng, squid, clams soup and fried meehoon, along with fresh coconut drinks. Everything was delicious—the prawns were fresh, the fried fish crispy, and the meehoon was flavorful. The only downside was the crab sauce, which we found a bit too sweet for our liking, though the crab itself was fresh. Overall, it was a tasty and hearty seafood dinner albeit a little expensive.

Well-known among locals for its seafood offerings, See Good Food Centre in Kuching lives up to its reputation and then some. The visit was a pleasant surprise—each dish was full of flavour, with seafood that was notably fresh and well-prepared. Portions were generous and the pricing fair, making it a great value for the quality delivered. A vibrant spot that captures the essence of Sarawak’s casual seafood dining scene.
